Compatibility Notes

Some newer Z bodies use Nikon's v2 Remote SDK mode, which currently limits a few camera-side operations. Set the mode in ControlMyNikon's Settings > Body > Connection tab.

Affected bodies:
Z30, Z5II, Z50II, Z6III, ZR, Zfc

In v2 Remote SDK mode:

  • Artist Name, Copyright Info, and User Comment metadata cannot be read or written from the app. These can still be set from the camera's LCD menu.
  • White balance calibration cannot be performed from the app. It can still be performed from the camera's LCD menu.
  • Captured movies cannot be auto-downloaded to the PC. Movies can still be saved to the camera card.

Other Z bodies are not affected when using Legacy Remote SDK mode.
