Hotkeys
Hotkeys let the app run common actions from the keyboard.
Overview
- Each row shows an action and its assigned hotkey.
- For example, Shoot is an action and [SPACE] is the default hotkey for it.
- A blank hotkey means the action is available, but no keyboard shortcut is assigned.
- The app must be the active window for hotkeys to work.
Editing a hotkey
- Double-click an action row to edit its hotkey.
- You can also select an action row and click Edit.
- While editing, press the key or keys you want to use.
- Use combinations such as [CONTROL] + [S] when a single key is too easy to press by accident.
- Backspace removes the last key from the hotkey while you are editing.
- Click Save to keep the edited hotkey.
- Click Cancel to restore the hotkey that was assigned before editing.
Available actions
- The list shows the actions that can be started from a hotkey.
- Some actions are common, such as saving a profile.
- Other actions depend on which app and feature you are using.
- The available actions are controlled by the app and cannot be added from this page.
Actions and triggers
- An action is the thing the app should do.
- A hotkey is one way to start an action.
- Some actions can also be started by other triggers, such as scanning a barcode or using a voice trigger.
- For example, Shoot tells the camera to capture an image whether it was started by a keyboard hotkey, a matching barcode, or another supported trigger.
- Not every action is available in every trigger area.
Tips
- Pick hotkeys that are easy to remember.
- Avoid hotkeys that Windows or another app already uses.
- Hotkeys are not case-sensitive.
- If a text box is active, normal typing takes priority over hotkeys.
